West Ham United are going for Reading left-back Nicky Shorey.

The Mirror says Hammers boss Alan Curbishley wants Royals' England left-back Shorey and is trying to tempt Steve Coppell to sell with a player-plus-cash deal involving Upton Park out-of-favour striker Zamora. But West Ham are demanding £5million for Zamora with a £1m cash adjustment for Shorey.

Reading boss Coppell likes Zamora but is not interested at that price and has no intention of selling Shorey.
