West Ham not interested in returning Payet to Marseille

West Ham United have ruled out selling Dimitri Payet back to Olympique Marseille.

The Sun reports that the Hammers have no interest in returning Payet to his former club as they are not short of money.

Marseille are believed to be lining up a £35million move for the French playmaker but West Ham chiefs have no intention of offloading their star.

Recent reports have suggested that Marseille could offer Lassana Diarra, Bouna Sarr and/or Romain Alessandrini in any potential deal but a Hammers source told The Sun that the East Londoners are not interested.

“Marseille are willing to throw in a player exchange, they are desperate to get him back," said the source.

“But we would not be interested in either player, and a deal is not on. There is absolutely no desire to sell.

“He remains our best player and is key to our plans for the remainder of the season, nothing is happening."

Payet, 28, joined West Ham from Marseille for £10.7m in the summer of 2015.
