West Ham No2 Alan Irvine has played down talk of a move for Everton midfielder Tom Davies.

Reports at the weekend claimed the Hammers' ex-Goodison boss David Moyes was pondering a bid this month for the Blues' homegrown talent.

Irvine, who worked with Davies at the Everton Academy, was asked on Monday afternoon of his thoughts on the player.

And he said: “I know him well, worked with him since he was 13 or 14 and is a really talented player but to my understanding, we have not made any approach to Everton."
