Malaga sports director Mario Husillo has been released from his contract.

A fortnight after tendering his resignation, Husillo has managed to convince Malaga president Sheikh al-Thani to allow him to leave.

The Argentine is now expected to move to London and join new West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini at London stadium. The pair worked together when Pellegrini was in charge of Malaga.

It was Pellegrini who took Husillo to Malaga.

The experienced sports director's strength is the South American market and Pellegrini has convinced his new employers that Husillo's expertise will prove invaluable.
