West Ham, Newcastle chasing Atlanta midfielder Miguel Almiron

West Ham and Newcastle are chasing Paraguay midfielder Miguel Almiron.

The Sun says they face a battle to persuade his American club to sell the 24-year-old attacking midfielder.

Almiron is keen on a move to England after helping Atlanta United to the top of the MLS' Eastern Conference.

West Ham first showed an interest in the player two years ago but decided against making a bid at the time.

Almiron was subsequently signed by Atlanta in December 2016 in a £6million deal with Argentine club Lanus.

And the Americans are determined to keep hold of their star player for the remainder of the MLS season although they might consider a sale in the New Year.
