West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic was impressed with debutant Jonathan Calleri's performance in the Europa League tie with Romanian side Astra Giurgiu.
The Argentinean striker, who has signed on a loan deal from Uruguayan team Deportivo Maldonado just this week, played 63 minutes of the play-off first leg before being replaced by defender James Collins.
"We wanted to introduce him in this game and not wait for Bournemouth, we had a couple of injuries and we wanted to save Andy Carroll and Jonathan played good," said Bilic.
"He had one really good chance and their goalkeeper saved it brilliantly.
"He doesn't know the players and all that because he's only been here a short time and all that, but he showed great quality."
