West Ham midfielder Poyet hopes to face Dad's Sunderland

West Ham United midfielder Diego Poyet hopes to be in the squad for their clash with his Dad's team, Sunderland.

Poyet has recently returned to the Club following a short-term loan spell at Sky Bet Championship outfit Huddersfield Town.

He told whufc.com: "I'd love to be play in the game against Sunderland. The squad is pretty much all fit at the moment so it will be difficult but I'd love to be part of it.

"I've never played against a team my Dad's managed, he'd left Brighton by the time I was playing for Charlton so we haven't crossed paths just yet.

"We're both looking forward to it happening one day, we've been joking about it recently. We won't talk about it this week, after the game I'm sure whoever wins will have something to say!"
