West Ham midfielder Noble in frame for shock England call

West Ham United midfielder Mark Noble could be the big surprise in Roy Hodgson's new England squad.

The Mail on Sunday says Noble is under serious consideration by Hodgson ahead of England's friendly with Norway and their opening Euro2016 qualifier against Switzerland.

Noble, now 27, and West Ham's player of the year last season says: "I've always been confident I can make that step.

"There have been times in the past, even last season, when there was talk that maybe I could get the call but nothing happened. Hopefully, now, if I keep working hard and playing well, my time could finally come.

"It is a goal and dream of mine to play for England and I'll never give up on that. Players these days often don't peak until they're 30. I have plenty left in the tank."
