West Ham United midfielder Mark Noble has defended the tactics of manager Sam Allardyce.

Allardyce has been blasted for his long-ball tactics by critics, but Noble insists the Hammers are encouraged to get the ball down and play.

He said: "The gaffer has never asked me to boot it. I try to get on the ball and make us play as much as possible and that's what has happened."
