West Ham midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate is surprised that Andy Carroll missed England selection.
Carroll was among the most high-profile absentees from Gareth Southgate's party for games against Germany and Lithuania.
“For me, I don't understand why England don't call Andy because he has scored a lot of goals, but that is down to the manager," Kouyate told talkSPORT.
"Maybe he will be called in the next international break."
Carroll earned the last of his nine England caps in 2012 in a World Cup qualifier against San Marino.
