West Ham United midfielder Valon Behrami is wanted by Palermo.

The Switzerland midfielder, who arrived in a £5million deal from Lazio in 2008, had been expected to commit his future to Upton Park by signing an improved deal.

Palermo refused to pay the £15m tag for the 24-year-old in January but now hope to get a cut-price deal with the Hammers desperate to reduce debts.
