West Ham United midfielder Valon Behrami had his bags packed for Italy yesterday.
TMW says Behrami was ready to fly to Rome for a medical with AS Roma, but the capital club couldn't convince the Hammers to part with the Swiss.
Roma offered goalkeeper Alexandre Doni in part exchange, but West Ham weren't interested.
Palermo also made an attempt offering their Brazilian keeper Rubinho, but again West Ham weren't keen.
Behrami will now wait until January to return to Italy.
