West Ham midfielder Alex Song has explained wearing glasses in games.
Song revealed he is taking a risk by occasionally discarding the Edgar Davids-style glasses he has been ordered to wear after suffering an eye injury last month.
Song, who ditched them again during the City game, said: “Sometimes I have to play without because I can't see properly when it's raining or a little bit dark but it's a risk.
“I have to be careful because it's not good for the future. The doctor was saying an infection would be very bad for me. I have to keep wearing them until he tells me not to."
