West Ham United have made a shock move for Chelsea attacker Salomon Kalou.
The Daily Mail says Hammers manager Sam Allardyce has gone cool on Rangers striker Nikica Jelavic after their £6m bid was rejected and is hopeful that Chelsea will allow them to take Kalou instead.
The 26-year-old is available after being used sparingly by Andre Villas-Boas but may need some persuading to drop down a division. Allardyce also asked about Florent Malouda but was told he was not available.
Kalou has been a target for Premier League clubs including Arsenal but Chelsea would rather sell him abroad than to a rival. A short term move to the Championship may suit.
