West Ham have launched a bid for Roma midfielder Maxime Gonalons.
The Sun says West Ham have reportedly tabled an £8.9million offer for Gonalons.
Crystal Palace and Everton are also believed to have made bids but they were rejected by the Italian club.
And now reports in Italy claim Manuel Pellegrini has turned to the eight-cap France international, who has struggled for regular game time at Roma.
He moved to the Italian capital at the start of last season and ended a 17-year stint at Lyon.
But Gonalons, 29, started just 12 Serie A matches last season under Eusebio Di Francesco.
There are suggestions that he would prefer a return to France for family reasons.
