West Ham to lose Behrami for up to three weeks

West Ham United midfielder Valon Behrami is expected to be sidelined for the next three weeks with medial ligament damage in his knee.

The Swiss international has only appeared twice for the Hammers so far this season but has now been ruled out until the end of October.

He will miss important fixtures against Wolves and Newcastle as the East London club attempt to get off the bottom of the league table.

Behrami was close to leaving Upton Park in summer with Palermo and Roma both interested but will now have to focus on getting himself fit and resurrecting his West Ham career.
