West Ham United are in negotiations for Rennes defender Jean-Armel Kana-Biyik.
The Daily Mail says the 25-year-old was an option for them at the start of the window and after a proposed move to Palermo stalled they have been given the chance to sign him again.
The tough-tackling defender started his career in the youth ranks at Le Havre and retired from playing for Cameroon after being left out of their final World Cup squad. He has one year to run on his contract with Rennes and is available for around £1.25m.
