West Ham United legend Martin Peters has given his seal of approval to new signing Thomas Histzlsperger.

The former Aston Villa star arrives from Lazio and is Avram Grant's first signing as Hammers manager.

Peters told the Daily Star Sunday: "I am delighted by his signing. He has Premier League experience and that's vital.

"Last season we had a few too many players who don't have the pride to wear the West Ham shirt. That seems to be being changed."
