West Ham legend Dicks slams Spurs winger Bentley: I wouldn't sign you for Grays!

West Ham United legend Julian Dicks has slammed Tottenham winger David Bentley.

Dicks took charge of Grays Athletic in September and was disgusted to see the actions of the England midfielder when he recently took his Blue Square Premier side to face Tottenham in a behind closed doors friendly.

Bentley refused to take the game seriously and was taken off at half-time following a dressing room altercation with Harry Redknapp, says the Sunday Mirror.

Dicks, who was known as the Terminator during his playing days, admits his men looked up to players such as Bentley and Roman Pavlyuchenko, who was playing in the same game, and could not believe what they were seeing.

Dicks said: "If there were managers there watching him, they will think 'why should I take him' if he is performing like that. I will not be taking him to Grays after that performance!

"Fans pay good money to watch these players and they should be giving 110 per cent, regardless of whether they are playing in reserve games or friendlies.

"Regardless of how much they get, they are there to do a job to the best of their ability which means working hard. I used to go out and give 110 per cent - it should be the same for everybody."
