West Ham United legend Julian Dicks has slammed England's decision to go with Roy Hodgson over Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp.
Former Liverpool fullback Dicks played for Redknapp at West Ham.
He wrote in the Daily Star Sunday: "Don't get me wrong. Roy Hodgson has been given the role and has targeted a major trophy since being handed a four-year deal.
"And fair play to him. He does have certain credentials and I wish him the best of luck, starting with our campaign at the Euros this summer.
"Of course, I will be following England at the tournament in Poland and Ukraine but I am not so sure I can say I am overly excited by it. But with Harry at the helm I would have been full of anticipation. Buzzing.
"I am afraid that if ever the FA got an appointment wrong - and let's face it they are masters at it - it is this one."
