West Ham United legend Julian Dicks has slammed the club's current players.
Dicks insists they must adopt the work ethic of Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez if they want to get out of trouble.
Dicks, who is firmly behind boss Gianfranco Zola, told The Sun: "For me, the players do not work hard enough and some of them are lazy.
"They have to look at themselves and there are no excuses for not trying.
"I have always said it is down to the players. When they cross that white line, it is down to them to perform and work hard.
"But some don't want to know. They need to have the same passion Rooney and Tevez show every game.
"As a footballer, you should not need lifting. If you can't perform and play in front of 36,000 people at Upton Park, you should not be playing football."
