West Ham United legend Paolo di Canio says money is wrecking the potential of local footballers.
Di Canio, now in charge of Swindon Town, admits he sees the problem even in the lower leagues.
He told the Daily Mail: "Even at this level you see players with quality at the age of 20 but at 23 they're finished. You get fantastically talented players, but the desire goes down when they get a big car, a gold and diamond watch. Then at 24 they have no respect, they have not maintained their desire to become a top player."
