West Ham United legend Paolo di Canio says he has coaching ambitions.

In a wide-ranging interview, Di Canio said his coaching plans had been boosted by his time with Cisco Roma.

"I want to coach at the highest level," declared Di Canio, "though theory is one thing and practice is another."

He also took a swipe at Lazio president Claudio Lotito.

"Roma are fortunate," smiled Di Canio, "because they have two presidents: one with Roma and one with Lazio."

The Italian added: "I have a lot in common with the British people, although I love my homeland. I'm proud of being born in Italy."
