West Ham United legend Tony Cottee says Sam Allardyce should be kept on next season.

The Hammers have won only one of their last 11 games - but Cottee is adamant Allardyce is still the right man for the job.

Cottee, 49, said: "I think around Christmas and just after, when we effectively secured our safety, Sam should have been given a contract."

Allardyce comes off contract in June.
