FA director of football development Sir Trevor Brooking wants Fabio Capello to carry on as England coach.

West Ham United legend Brooking has campaigned for the Italian to continue as England manager, says the Telegraph.

Brooking believes that he should stay and help out with the FA's plans to nourish grass-roots football. Capello's contract runs until 2012 but there have been calls for his removal following England's hapless display at the World Cup, where the players were clearly uncomfortable with his 4-4-2 system.
