West Ham are leading the pursuit to sign Manchester United centre-back Chris Smalling, according to the latest report.

The Daily Star claims that the Hammers have already contacted United regarding the England international and are set to make an initial bid of £10m.

United manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly decided to sell Smalling this summer as he doesn't see the 27-year-old as a starter alongside Eric Bailly.

The Red Devils, who have already signed another centre-back in Victor Lindelof from Benfica, value Smalling at £15m.
