West Ham knocked back in pursuit of Huddersfield striker Rhodes

West Ham boss Sam Allardyce has revealed League One Huddersfield have told him their star striker Jordan Rhodes is not available. The former Bolton and Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle boss denied reports claiming he had made a firm £3million bid for the 21-year-old, who has hit 20 goals this season and made his Scotland debut.

Allardyce said: "Jordan Rhodes has only been an enquiry but we have had a straightforward `no, not for sale'.

"That is out of the equation. It was just an enquiry, nothing more."
