West Ham United goalkeeper Robert Green says teammate Scott Parker deserves England World Cup selection.

Parker is the Hammers hero this week after his stunning winner against Wigan Athletic secured their Premiership safety.

"I would love him to go," said Green.

"That goal sums up everything about Scott Parker this season."

Green was gushing in his praise of West Ham's star man, saying: "He'll win player of the year by a country mile, goal of the season, players' player of the year - he will win everything going.

"The times he's taken one in the privates and just picked himself up is amazing. He wobbles around a bit and gets on with it. I, for one, wouldn't want to insure him."
