West Ham United goalkeeper Robert Green is open to a move to Aston Villa.
The Express & Star says the 31-year-old is one of several players at Upton Park who are said to be worried about the impending prospect of relegation to the Championship.
A source close to the London club revealed that Green has sounded out what life is like at Villa through reserve team goalkeeper Andy Marshall.
The pair are close friends from their playing days at Norwich City and Marshall has spoken positively about life at the claret and blues.
Villa's current No.1 Brad Friedel is out of contract in the summer and while the club are in process of negotiating a new deal, the management realise the need to look to look to the future with Friedel turning 40 this month.
