West Ham United goalkeeper Robert Green is grateful to manager Gianfranco Zola for helping him win back a place in the England squad.

"He has been tremendous for me, the team and club," said Green. "It didn't take too long for him to be offered a new contract, so he is valued.

"We are more attack-minded and pass the ball all the time.

"We would not have done that under ­previous managers. Zola has got belief and confidence in the guys that we can play how he wants.

"That is a tremendous attribute for a coach to have. He has helped each player.

"Look at Carlton Cole, who has come on a great deal. We are all responding."
