West Ham United goalkeeper Robert Green has backed Dean Ashton to fire them to success this season.

The England keeper said: "Dean has been flying in pre-season.

"He was missed last season and it is a massive boost to have him back.

"He has been looking sharp in training and if he can keep up his form he will be a big player for us.

"We are hoping Dean can score us the goals to help us enjoy a successful season."
