West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce says he is interested in Dimitar Berbatov but says the club cannot afford him.
The Bulgarian striker is set to leave Manchester United this week and even though the Hammers are very keen, his salary and the likely transfer fee are too much to bring him to East London.
"I don't think we have got the finance for Dimitar Berbatov," he told Sky Sports News.
"The financial package for the player's salary is one I think would be beyond us."
