West Ham United have expressed interest in Caen midfielder N'Golo Kante.

Paris-born midfielder Kante is valued at around £5million and has been likened to former Chelsea midfielder Claude Makelele.

The Daily Mail says West Ham's move comes as their deal for Alex Song stalls over his length of contract.

Song has floating bone in his ankle which means he is out for three months and West Ham want to offer him a one year deal until he proves his fitness.
