Liverpool first began sounding out candidates to replace Brendan Rodgers over a month ago, it has been revealed.
The Sunday Express says Jurgen Klopp along with former Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti were both sounded out by Liverpool's owners following a frustrating Anfield 1-1 draw with Norwich on September 20th.
The clock had been ticking on Rodgers' reign since the devastating 3-0 home defeat against West Ham and the 3-1 surrender at Manchester United the next weekend.
When Rodgers' side failed to beat Norwich on home soil the Boston based Fenway Sports Group decided to pull the plug, their manager effectively a dead man walking in the games against Aston Villa, Sion and finally Everton.
