West Ham hope to beat Villa for Watford striker Sordell

Aston Villa are being linked with Watford hotshot Marvin Sordell.

The People says Southampton are battling Championship promotion rivals West Ham United for Sordell.

The Saints and the Hammers are both believed to have tabled bids of around £2million for the England Under-21 international – with Aston Villa also keeping tabs.

But Watford value their 20-year-old striker at around twice that price and will hang on until the end of the transfer window to get the best offer.
