Former West Ham defender Julian Dicks believes it is time Lucas Neill showed some loyalty to the club. The 41-year old says that the Australian international needs to take a reality check as he continues to hold out for an improved offer from the cash-strapped club.
"Is it me, or am I missing something here?" Dicks said.
"He's 31. Hardly in his prime, but he does a job at right back. I am told he was offered a two or three-year deal with the Hammers on about ($80,000) a week.
"The word is that he was on ($150,000) a week and was obviously unhappy at the reduced wages. But, come on, ($80,000) a week.
"It's time he showed the club a little loyalty. I can understand every player must look out for himself . . . but ($80,000) a week for the next couple of years ain't bad, is it? Mr Neill needs to get a reality check."
Neill has reportedly been considering offers from the Hammers as well as Sunderland and Turkish club Galatasaray.
