West Ham great Di Canio extends Swindon stay

Paolo Di Canio has signed a new two-year deal to remain manager of Swindon Town.

The charismatic Italian has been in charge of the Town since May 2011 and has been rewarded for his efforts in getting the club up to League One following their League Two title win last season.

Di Canio will remain at Swindon until at least 2015 which has delighted chairman Jeremy Wray.

"Paolo has been a spectacular success in his first year of club management," he said.

"From the outset he has given assurance of his commitments to Swindon, as long as we had a shared goal of reaching the Championship within three years.

"Having agreed the budget for the upcoming season, the board has every confidence that Paolo will deliver this goal within the period of his new contract.

"I am sure all Swindon fans will join the board in welcoming this news and that we can all look forward to another exciting and successful season."
