West Ham United fullback Carl Jenkinson was delighted to be part of victory over Newcastle United.
Victory lifts the Hammers up to fifth ahead of Tuesday's visit to West Bromwich Albion.
Jenkinson, on-loan from Arsenal, told whufc.com: "It's great, it was a really hard-fought victory and we needed it to be honest.
"We needed to get back on track and needed three points, so it's a fantastic win and just what we needed right now. In game's like this, it doesn't matter how you do it. It's fantastic that we've kept a clean sheet as well and we've scored a great goal, so a great day all round.
"It wasn't easy, especially first half. You could see they were a side full of confidence and they've got some good players. So it was never going to be easy and we rode the storm. We stopped them creating too much, which was good and it was lovely to get a clean sheet. That's always nice for the defenders and the goalkeeper, so a massive win."
