West Ham forward Ayew happy with season ending

West Ham striker Andre Ayew was chuffed to help the Hammers win their final match of the season on Sunday.

The Ghanaian put the Irons ahead in the 72nd minute after Sofiane Feghouli cancelled out Sam Vokes' opener.

Burnley keeper Tom Heaton saved Edimilson Fernandes' long-range shot, but the rebound sat perfectly for Ayew to nod home.

After enduring a mediocre season - scoring 6 goals compared to his 12 for Swansea last season - the 27-year old was happy to end the season on a high note.

"We are happy with today's three points and to finish on a good note," said the former Marseille striker.

"The whole season has been difficult so we're happy to end like this.

"Overall, the season has been difficult, but we're just a point away from eighth spot at the end of the day."
