West Ham United boss Gianfranco Zola is being linked with the Italy job.
The Daily Mail says Zola is under consideration to succeed Marcello Lippi after the 2010 World Cup.
Zola and Pierluigi Casiraghi, who worked together with Italy's Under 21 side, are seen as cheaper, if more risky, alternatives.
