West Ham United have pulled out of talks for Blackburn Rovers striker Benni McCarthy.

The Sunday Mirror says the Hammer's had made a £2million bid for Blackburn's Benni McCarthy, but pulled out of the deal on Thursday when Rovers said they would not entertain a bid until they had found a replacement.

West Ham are expected to close a deal for AS Monaco striker Eidur Gudjohnsen in the next 24 hours.
