West Ham are due a tidy windfall after Middlesbrough's promotion back to the Premier League.

The Daily Mail says West Ham will receive an extra £1.5million following Middlesbrough's promotion to the Premier League.

The money is due as part of Stewart Downing's transfer at the start of the season.

Downing joined Middlesbrough for £5.5m in a surprise deal last August with an extra £1.5m agreed on condition of Middlesbrough's promotion to the Premier League.
