West Ham defender Spector wants the big teams

West Ham defender Jonathan Spector says he would love to play against the 'big' teams in next year's World Cup.

The 23-year old USA international is another who is excited about the official FIFA World Cup draw to be held in Cape Town on Friday December 4 but basically said he doesn't care who the USA draws in the group stage.

"I think you want to play against the big teams in a World Cup; to make it to the final and to win it you need to beat the big teams, so it'd be a great feeling to go there and to play against and beat the big teams," said Spector.

Despite those comments, the former Manchester United and Charlton Athletic man said it would be a nervous wait to see what came out of the draw and what the future holds for the USA national team.

"Everyone involved is going to be anxiously awaiting to see who we're going to be playing because everything we've built up to this last four years, all the hard work and everything we've put in is culminating to this point," he added.

"So we really want to make it count, and I think we're all anxious and excited to see who we're going to be competing against down there."
