West Ham United striker Ricardo Vaz Te has opted to undergo shoulder surgery.
The Guardian says Vaz Te will undergo surgery to his right shoulder on Monday and is set to be out of action for between eight and 10 weeks.
The West Ham United forward dislocated the shoulder in his team's 3-1 home defeat to Arsenal on Saturday and Sam Allardyce, the club's manager, said the Portuguese could be sidelined for 12 weeks.
Vaz Te, who has been a key performer in West Ham's encouraging start to their Premier League return, has been given a more favourable prognosis.
