West Ham United's crocked striker Dean Ashton blames their inconsistency this season on all the boardroom upheaval.

He admitted: "All the players know is what we read - and obviously that's changing all the time. So it's difficult to know where the club is going. When you read players are going to be sold then it is obviously going to affect people.

"West Ham seems to be that type of club in recent years, with all the changes in the managers and that sort of thing.

"I'm not too sure which way the club is going to go - but hopefully we can stabilise as soon as possible."
