West Ham United could be dumped out of the FA Cup if Diafra Sakho is banned by FIFA for not appearing with Senegal at the Africa Cup of Nations.
FIFA are investigating Sakho's absence after he pulled out of AFCON citing a back injury. He scored the winner against Bristol City last month.
The Daily Mail says West Ham deny any wrongdoing and want the case dismissed. Sanctions by FIFA could involve expulsion from the FA Cup, a ban on the player or a fine.
West Ham maintain Sakho did not team up with Senegal because his back problem meant he could not fly.
