West Ham United admit they have bids in for new strikers.
Stoke's Peter Crouch and Portugal international Hugo Almeida are two of Sam Allardyce's principal targets.
"We intend to sign one more player, hopefully before the start of the season," a West Ham spokesman told the London Evening Standard.
"We have bids in for several strikers."
