West Ham United chief David Gold admits Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp would be in the England running should Fabio Capello lose his job.

Redknapp has already expressed interest in the job in the last 24 hours.

FA councillor and West Ham co-owner Gold said: "Harry has clearly shown himself to be a top boss and would have to be on any list of British candidates.

"Yes, of course he's the People's Choice.

"You can't argue against that."
