West Ham chief Gold expects January market to be red-hot

West Ham United co-owner David Gold admits the January market will be red-hot.

Gold says they have a shopping list of 15 transfer targets they're currently working on.

Hammers manager Avram Grant has suggested the club were close to signing midfielder Steve Sidwell, 28, from Aston Villa but Gold said the deal is not yet done.

He said: "We're waiting for a number of issues to be resolved.

"There's a lot of secret stuff going on. We're trying to outwit our competitors."
