West Ham United co-chairman David Gold has criticised their signing of Andy Carroll.
Gold has expressed frustration with the player's injury problems.
"Andy Carroll for us was a great, great signing. It showed the intent of the football club, it showed our ambition," Gold told talkSPORT.
"Sadly the injury we only expected to be only two or three weeks into the season and here we are, at Christmas, and he still hasn't played a game. Purely from a football point of view we've bought a £15million player and he's not kicked a ball.
"Anybody who said that's a very good decision, you would have to say they're mad. With hindsight you would probably have done a different deal, not to say you wouldn't have signed him, but you would have done a different deal with Liverpool."
